Final award in the Stratford City Shopping Centre v Newspoint Commercial Rent (Coronavirus) Act 2022 arbitration
On 22 September 2022 Greville Healey made his final award in the Stratford City Shopping Centre v Newspoint Commercial Rent (Coronavirus) Act 2022 arbitration. He considered the available evidence regarding the tenant’s viability, and made an award giving the tenant time to pay, in accordance with the landlord’s revised formal proposal. He also made a direction that the tenant reimburse the landlord for three-quarters of the arbitration fee, for a number of reasons, including because the tenant had raised and lost on the preliminary issue.
